Sao Paulo, the early morning of 25 August 2011. Four contestants of Miss Universe 2011 were officially appointed by the organizer to join the reigning Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarette from Mexico to visit the Sao Luiz hospital. The beauties participated in a humanitarian event hosted by Operation Smile (or Operation Sorriso in Portuguese), a worldwide charity organization dedicated to rovide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.

The four contestants invited for the events were ...

The host delegate Priscila Machado

The pageant powerhouse nation Venezuela, represented by Vanessa Goncalves, which coincidentally is a dentist herself

The exotic Shamcey Supsup from the Philippines

and finally the media darling from China, Roseline Luo

They participated in a press conference for Operation Smile and later met some of the children that will be soon benefited from the surgeries provided by Operation Smile. The involvement of the reigning Miss Universe and the four contestants is a part of Miss Universe organization support towards the charity project of Operation Smile. "Soon you will have a beautiful smile too, my little Angel!"

From China with love

In our opinion, this event is a truly beautiful and inspiring one, showing that Miss Universe is not only about all that glam and glitz but also about being loving and caring towards those who need it. It is also a million times better compared to last year "charity" event where the contestants selling lemonades at mall in bikini (so cheap and tacky). The angelic smile from these beautiful ladies certainly means a lot for those children, whom hopefully, will have their own beautiful smile too ... soon.
