The 1983 edition is one of the most special edition of Miss World contest. It perhaps could be dubbed as the Family Edition of Miss World contest because a daughter of a past Miss World winner and a mother of a future Miss World winner competed together that year. Imagine the chance of something like that happening again .... certainly very slim, right? Now without further ado, let's meet these two pairs of mother and daughter who have made Miss World 1983 a special edition to remember!

First let's meet the daughter first. She is Carolina Cerutti Djuim from Venezuela and the daughter of the past Miss World 1955 Susana Djuim. She was 21 years old when competing at Miss World 1983. Unfortunately, unlike her mother, Susana failed to win the Miss World crown. She was not even included in the semifinalist line up.

Now it's time for the mother. She is Unnur Steinsson from Iceland and the mother of the future Miss World 2005 Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir. She was the first Icelandic delegate to place at Miss World final since its debut in 1955 and ended up as the Fourth Runner Up.
